Manipur Police Arrest Nagaland Man, Seize 446 Grams of Suspected Drugs in Senapati

Manipur Police arrested a 46-year-old man from Nagaland and recovered 37 soap cases containing suspected drugs during a checking operation in Senapati district on August 13.

The operation was conducted at Khongnem Thana village under Senapati Police Station, where police intercepted and apprehended the suspect during frisking and vehicle checks.

The arrested man was identified as Imliakum Longkumer, a resident of Longa village in Nagaland’s Mokokchung district. Police said the 37 soap cases contained suspected contraband weighing approximately 446 grams.

A Bolero vehicle allegedly used for transporting the suspected drugs was also seized during the operation.

Longkumer, along with the seized vehicle and suspected contraband, has been taken into custody. Police have launched a further investigation to establish the source and intended destination of the seized substances and determine whether others were involved in the suspected trafficking operation.
