Naga Civilian Killed, Three Injured in Firing at Manipur’s Langka Naga Village

A Naga civilian was killed and three others were injured after suspected armed militants opened fire on farmers working in a paddy field at Langka Naga village in Manipur on Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 7.30 am when the farmers were engaged in agricultural activities. According to sources, more than 40 armed militants carrying sophisticated weapons allegedly attacked the group.

W Chawang, 34, sustained gunshot injuries and died at the spot. Three other farmers — Kawidinang Abonmai, 55, Maliangjinang Abonmai, 52, and Namthiulungbou Prinmai, 50 — were injured in the firing, with two of them reportedly suffering severe injuries.

The attack has raised fresh concern among residents of the village. Security forces are expected to assess the situation and investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
