Rihon Daimary Inaugurates New Building of Khaurang High School

Udalguri-Sonitpur, August 14: BTC Deputy Chief and Udalguri MLA Rihon Daimary inaugurated the newly constructed building of Khaurang High School in Udalguri district on Friday.

The three-storey building was constructed under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at an estimated cost of around Rs 3.54 crore.

Addressing the gathering after the inauguration, Daimary said the BTC government was according priority to education and urged students to pursue quality education and prepare themselves for competitive examinations. He also called upon teachers and parents to give special attention to students’ education and encourage them in their academic pursuits.

A meeting was subsequently held under the presidentship of Soneswar Owari, chairman of Bhairabkunda TCLCC and president of the Khaurang High School Managing Committee.

Bhaban Deuri, District Inspector of Schools, Udalguri, and Sunil Kumar Basumatary, general secretary of the BPF Central Committee, among others, addressed the gathering.

The programme was attended by Tek Bahadur Pradhan, chairman of Khaurang VCDC; Kishor Chirpali, local village headman; members of the School Building Construction Committee; Dilip Paudel, Chief Manager of BS International Company; Manager Binod Pokhrel; the school headmaster and other guests.

Representatives of BS International, including Bhishma Dangal and Binod Pokhrel, later handed over the keys of the newly inaugurated building to the school authorities.
