GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended greetings to senior citizens on Senior Citizens Day, acknowledging their wisdom, sacrifices and contributions to society.
In a social media post, Sarma said the state government remained committed to ensuring that senior citizens lived with dignity, care and support.
He highlighted government initiatives aimed at supporting elderly people, including special leave provisions for government employees to take care of their ageing parents.
Sarma also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening welfare measures for senior citizens across Assam.
