SILCHAR: A motorcycle and a car were extensively damaged after a fire broke out on the Silchar-Sonai Road near Aulia Bazar on August 23.
The incident occurred around 1 pm in front of IS Digital when the motorcycle suddenly caught fire. The flames quickly spread to a car parked nearby, engulfing both vehicles.
Neither vehicle had a driver present at the time. Local residents said the owners may have gone to a nearby examination centre.
Residents attempted to douse the flames, but both vehicles sustained extensive damage before the fire was brought under control.
Police reached the spot after being informed and took the damaged vehicles to the police station.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Police have launched an investigation to determine how the blaze started.
