SONAPUR, Aug 30: At least four people were killed and several others injured in a road accident involving a goods truck and a traveller on NH-27 at Sonapur on Sunday.
The accident involved goods truck AS07 BC 4271 and traveller AS01 HC 0716. According to reports, the traveller was travelling towards Guwahati from Nagaon when it reportedly hit a large pothole on the highway, lost control, crossed the divider and collided with the truck travelling from Guwahati towards Nagaon.
Three men were reportedly killed on the spot, along with a woman aged around 50.
Khetri Police, with the assistance of local residents, launched rescue operations at the site.
