BJP Draws Up Strategy for TTAADC Village Committee Polls

AGARTALA: The ruling BJP in Tripura held a meeting with its central leadership and senior state leaders on Wednesday to finalise its strategy for the upcoming elections to the Village Committees of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), scheduled for September 28.

The meeting was chaired by BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santosh and attended by former Chief Minister and National General Secretary Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister Manik Saha, Northeast Coordinator Sambit Patra, Co-Coordinator Rajib Babbar, state in-charge Rajdeep Roy, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee and state BJP president Abhishek Debroy.

Saha said discussions focused on strengthening the party’s organisational structure, increasing public outreach and finalising programmes and action plans for the elections. He said the party would focus on addressing the day-to-day problems of people in the Village Committees and earning their trust by resolving their issues.

Deb said the meeting focused on election preparations and that a detailed blueprint had been prepared. He said the BJP treated every election, including those at the Village Committee level, with equal importance.

Deb also said Santosh’s presence in Tripura reflected the BJP’s seriousness towards issues concerning the Janajati community.

The BJP leaders expressed confidence that party workers would work at the grassroots level to strengthen the campaign ahead of the Village Committee elections.
