Guwahati: An ICU physician at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati allegedly died by suicide while on duty at the hospital premises on Wednesday, triggering a police investigation. The doctor was identified as Prayash Singhal, who was posted at the ICU on the second floor of the hospital’s new building when the incident occurred, according to sources. Hospital staff reportedly found Singhal unresponsive and informed the police. A police team subsequently reached the hospital and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
