The flood-related death toll in Assam has risen to 108, with seven districts currently affected by inundation, according to the latest data from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
Goalpara, Sivasagar, Biswanath, Nagaon, Morigaon, West Karbi Anglong and Cachar have reported flood impacts, affecting 25,083 people across 155 villages. Thirteen relief camps are sheltering displaced residents, while 6,477.31 hectares of crop area have been affected.
The latest fatality was reported from West Karbi Anglong, where a woman died, taking the state’s flood-related death toll to 108.
River levels also remained a concern, with the Dhansiri at Numaligarh and the Katakhal at Matizuri flowing above their respective danger marks.
Authorities continued to monitor river levels and vulnerable areas as flood conditions persisted. Relief and rescue operations were underway, while officials assessed damage to homes, livelihoods and agricultural land.
