GUWAHATI, Sept 8: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-I, has extended the period of regular classes for Class 10 and Class 12 students following disruptions caused by recent floods and ongoing census activities across the state.
According to a notification issued on Tuesday, regular classes for Class 10 will continue until February 22, 2027, while Class 12 classes will continue until March 8, 2027, to ensure completion of the prescribed course content.
The Board said the floods and census process had disrupted the academic schedule, raising the possibility that the Class 10 syllabus would not be completed by the first week of February and the Class 12 syllabus by February 28.
It said the extended classroom schedule would allow students to complete the course content.
The Board also clarified that the schedules for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination and Higher Secondary Final Examination would be decided accordingly, taking the extended classroom schedule into account.
The notification was issued by the Secretary, ASSEB Division-I, and circulated to the Education Minister’s office, School Education Department and other concerned officials for necessary action.
