Family Seeks Justice for Manipur-Origin Musician’s Death in Delhi

NEW DELHI, Sept 8: Manipur-origin musician C. Vikram Singh died in Delhi following an alleged physical assault involving delivery executives, according to his family, which called for a fair and impartial investigation and legal action against those responsible.

In a statement, Singh’s wife, Joshna Chongtham, said the family was struggling to cope with his sudden death and appealed for privacy while urging authorities to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Describing Singh as her husband, the father of her child, a son, brother and musician deeply loved by family and friends, Chongtham said the family was seeking justice and accountability rather than revenge.

“We are not seeking revenge. We are seeking justice,” she said, adding that those responsible should be held accountable in accordance with the law.

She thanked family members, friends and people across the country, as well as the Delhi Police, political leaders and public representatives, for their support following the incident.

Chongtham urged authorities to conduct the investigation without bias and establish the circumstances that led to Singh’s death. She also appealed for privacy as the family came to terms with the loss.

The family expressed hope that Singh’s death would not be repeated in other families and that his memory would be respected. Further details of the investigation and circumstances surrounding the alleged assault were awaited.
