Sports Desk: Rangia FC emerged victorious in today’s match of the 9th Annual C.M. Championship Trophy Invitational Prize Money Football Tournament, organised by the Hardatta-Biradatta Krira Sangha, Rangia. The match between Rangia Football XI and Guwahati City FC was played at the Balishatra Haridev Kshetra Public Playground. As the match ended in a goalless draw during regulation time, the winner was decided through a tie-breaker. Rangia FC defeated Guwahati City FC by 4–3 to advance to the next round of the tournament. The match was held in the presence of Competition Organising Committee President and local MLA Bhabesh Kalita, Co-District Police Officer Biswajit Deka, Working President Pradip Kakoti, Vice-President Abdul Majid, Secretary Bhavesh Deka and several other distinguished personalities. The match was officiated by Dulu Talukdar, Jayanta Madhab Das, Dhruvajyoti Kalita and Pahared Ali Ahmed. Prior to the match, a special tribute programme was organised in memory of Sudhakantha Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika in connection with his birth centenary celebrations. MLA Bhabesh Kalita paid floral tributes to the legendary musician and lit the ceremonial lamp.
