DULIAJAN, Sept 9: The 9th OIL India Gold Cup Football Tournament will begin in Duliajan on September 21 and continue until October 3, with the main-round matches scheduled at Nehru Maidan.
Madhurya Barua, Executive Director of Oil India Limited, announced the tournament details at a press conference here on Tuesday.
The main round will feature 12 teams, including Sporting Club Delhi, Shillong Lajong FC, Punjab FC, NorthEast United FC, OIL India FC, Sudeva FC Delhi, CISF Football Team, Kidderpore Sporting Club Kolkata, ASUFII Football Academy Manipur, NRL Football Academy Numaligarh, Lenruwal FC Silchar and ASEB Sports Club Guwahati.
The qualifying round will begin on September 11 at Mazgaon Playground, where 10 teams will compete for two places in the main round. Matches will start at 2 pm, while the main-round games at Nehru Maidan will begin at 5.30 pm.
The two qualifying teams will join the main draw from September 21. The tournament will carry a total prize purse of Rs 13.5 lakh and is expected to attract football enthusiasts from across the region.
