The 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, organised a free veterinary camp at Zubai Kurkuria village in Digaru on September 11, providing treatment to 184 livestock and benefiting 34 owners.
The camp was organised under the guidance of Commandant Sunil Kaushik and led by Commandant (Vet) Dr E. Chaoba Singh and HC/Vet Neetan Sharma. Livestock, including cows, bulls and goats, underwent health check-ups and received medicines and veterinary treatment free of cost.
Livestock owners were also given awareness on animal health, balanced diet, proper care, vaccination and prevention of seasonal diseases. The camp covered three villages.
Villagers expressed gratitude to the SSB for the initiative. The force said such veterinary and public awareness programmes were being regularly organised to provide essential services to people in rural and border areas and strengthen coordination with local communities.
