Nitin Nabin Urges People to Light ‘Ashirvaad Ka Diya’ on PM Modi’s Birthday

New Delhi: BJP national president Nitin Nabin has appealed to people across the country to light an ‘Ashirvaad Ka Diya’ at their homes on September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and pray for his long life and good health. In a social media post, Nabin said public service and nation-building had remained at the centre of Modi’s political journey for the past 25 years. He described the Prime Minister’s leadership as visionary and said it had provided the country with a new direction and greater strength. Nabin urged people to light the lamp between 6 pm and 7 pm on September 17 as a gesture of blessings and to express their best wishes for the country’s continued progress. He linked the initiative to Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

In a video message, the BJP president recalled the challenges facing the country when Modi assumed leadership of the government. He said the Prime Minister introduced new schemes, programmes and a fresh vision while encouraging the youth to treat challenges as opportunities. Nabin also highlighted government initiatives aimed at empowering women, particularly the Lakhpati Didi programme. He said such initiatives were helping women achieve greater financial independence and contribute to national development.

On the issue of Left-wing extremism, Nabin claimed that the Modi government had made the elimination of Naxalism a key objective and asserted that India had become “Naxal-free” in 2026. The ‘Ashirvaad Ka Diya’ appeal is part of a series of programmes being organised by the BJP around Modi’s birthday and his 25 years in public service. The party has announced a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, beginning on September 17.
