The Tripura State Election Commission has issued the schedule for finalising polling stations ahead of the 2026 General Election to Urban Local Bodies.
According to a notification issued by State Election Commissioner Dr P K Chakravarty, the draft list of polling stations will be published on September 17, 2026. Claims, objections and suggestions against the draft list can be submitted until September 21.
The Commission will dispose of the claims and objections on September 23, followed by the final publication of the polling station list on September 25.
The notification was issued under Rule 3 of the Tripura Municipalities (Conduct of Election) Rules, 1995. It stated that District Municipal Election Officers, who are also the District Magistrates of the respective districts, would publish the polling station lists for municipal wards under Rule 7 of the Tripura Municipalities (Registration of Electors) Rules, 1995.
The notification was communicated to the District Municipal Election Officers across North, Unakoti, Dhalai, Khowai, West, Sepahijala, Gomati and South Tripura, along with various Sub-Divisional Election Authorities.
The Director of the General Administration (Printing and Stationery) Department was also requested to publish the notification in an extraordinary issue of the Tripura Gazette.
