A tense exchange was reported at Rampur in Assam’s Palashbari on Monday after a Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) delegation visiting a primary school allegedly faced objections while attempting to interact with local residents.
The delegation visited Khidir Pukhuri Kaibarta Para Primary School as part of a programme to meet residents and gather information about issues and grievances concerning the school.
According to reports, some people allegedly objected to the delegation’s interaction with residents and prevented its members from proceeding with the programme. Youth leader Gyanshree Bora was also present during the visit.
The situation reportedly turned tense after allegations that BJP workers had tried to stop the delegation from engaging with residents. A heated verbal exchange then took place between Bora and individuals identified as BJP workers.
The disagreement subsequently escalated into a confrontation involving members of the two sides.
