The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) has partnered with seven organisations to provide placement-linked skill development training to rural youth across Arunachal Pradesh under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0.
The memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed on Monday with Assam Professional Academy, Nitya Foundation, Skills2Skills LLP, Spurthi Rural Development Society, Sundyne Solar Solution Private Limited, Nurture Employability & Economic Development Society (NEEDS) and SHEEP Society.
The programme is aimed at widening access to industry-oriented training, improving the employability of rural youth and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through courses linked to employment.
ArSRLM Chief Executive Officer and State Mission Director Sangeeta Yirang said skill development was central to empowering rural youth and expanding access to viable employment.
Yirang said the effectiveness of DDU-GKY 2.0 would depend on the commitment, accountability and participation of all stakeholders. She urged the implementing organisations to maintain training quality, adhere to prescribed standards and work with the mission to facilitate placements.
ArSRLM Chief Operating Officer (Skills) Ruzing Bellai stressed compliance with the scheme’s guidelines and standard operating procedures. He also highlighted the need for regular monitoring and post-placement support to help ensure sustained employment.
DDU-GKY is a centrally sponsored scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development that provides skill training linked to wage employment for rural youth.
The DDU-GKY 2.0 framework places emphasis on training quality, sustained placements and long-term livelihood opportunities. ArSRLM is the nodal agency implementing the scheme in Arunachal Pradesh.
