Assam is set to get its fourth agricultural college, with the state Cabinet approving 84.6 acres of land at Patharkandi in the Barak Valley for the proposed institution, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on September 30.
Sarma said the college would be the first agricultural college in the Barak Valley. The project is expected to expand opportunities for young people in the region to pursue agricultural education, research and innovation.
“The Cabinet has approved the allotment of 84.6 acres of land at Patharkandi for the project,” Sarma said in a post on X.
“Assam is set to get its fourth Agricultural College and Barak Valley its first!” he added.
