MORIGAON, Oct 3: Assam Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel on Saturday reviewed the election preparedness of the Morigaon district administration for the 09-Nagaon Parliamentary Constituency bye-election, focusing on election management, Model Code of Conduct enforcement and security arrangements.
Goel chaired a review meeting at the District Commissioner’s office in the presence of Morigaon District Commissioner and District Election Officer Srishti Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Nishant Saurabh.
He reviewed the functioning of various election cells and assessed the deployment and activities of Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams for enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. He also took stock of preparations for conducting the bye-election and sought updates from officials on election management.
After the meeting, Goel, accompanied by Srishti Singh, inspected the designated Strong Room and Counting Centre at Morigaon College.
The team reviewed arrangements at the premises, including security measures for the safe storage of election materials and the counting process. Senior district administration and election officials were present during the inspection.
