Assam Rifles seizes 340 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.74 crore in Tripura

A joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs seized 340 kg of ganja valued at around Rs 1.74 crore during an operation in Tripura’s Khowai district on October 6.

The operation followed intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance over suspected narcotics movement in the area. Acting on the information, the team intercepted a Ford EcoSport and searched the vehicle, leading to the recovery of the contraband.

The seized ganja and the vehicle were handed over to Customs authorities for further investigation and legal action.

The seizure was part of ongoing efforts by Assam Rifles and other agencies to curb narcotics trafficking in the Northeast and disrupt networks operating in the region.
