Personnel of the 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, were commended for their contribution to the peaceful conduct of the Morigaon and Nagaon by-elections.
Deployed across the two constituencies on the directions of the Government of India, SSB personnel performed election duties under the supervision of Shri Kh. Ibochouba Singh, Second-in-Command and Officiating Commandant of the battalion.
The personnel were tasked with maintaining law and order and supporting security arrangements to facilitate peaceful, free, fair and fearless polling. The battalion said its personnel carried out their responsibilities with discipline, alertness and professionalism, including in challenging and sensitive circumstances.
Officers and personnel of all companies of the battalion performed their assigned duties throughout the electoral process and contributed to security arrangements for the polls.
Ibochouba Singh appreciated the dedication and commitment displayed by the personnel, saying their responsible performance under challenging circumstances was commendable. He also acknowledged their contribution towards strengthening the democratic process and serving the nation.
The Officiating Commandant conveyed his congratulations and best wishes to all officers and personnel involved in the election duty.
The 1st Battalion SSB, Sonapur, also expressed appreciation and gratitude to its personnel for their dedication, discipline and performance during the by-elections.
