DHAKUAKHANA, Oct 25: The traditional unveiling ceremony of the play script for the upcoming Sri Sri Krishna Maha Raas Leela festival was held at the historic Baligaon Hari Mandir in Dhakuakhana on the occasion of Lakshmi Purnima on Sunday.
With the beats of the khol and taal, flute melodies and Raas hymns marking the occasion, month-long rehearsals began at Baligaon Natya Mandir on Sunday.
The Sri Krishna Raas Leela will be staged on Kati Purnima following the rehearsals. Organised by the Baligaon Natya Samaj, the three-day Sri Sri Krishna Maha Raas Leela festival will be held on November 23, 24 and 25.
Festival committee president Shobhan Baruah and secretary Tilen Das appealed to the public to attend the event and extend their cooperation to ensure its success.
The traditional script-unveiling ceremony was also held at nearly 50 stages across Dhakuakhana on Lakshmi Purnima, as the region marked the occasion with devotional fervour.
