Assam Chief Minister has directed all state ministers to inform local MLAs ahead of visits to their constituencies and involve them in public programmes and official functions.
In a communication to the ministers, the Chief Minister noted that some had undertaken field visits without informing or involving the legislators representing the respective constituencies.
The communication asked ministers to notify local MLAs in advance and invite them to participate in public programmes and official engagements during their visits.
It also advised ministers to keep legislators courteously informed about departmental meetings and official review sessions, even when their attendance was not required.
The Chief Minister said the practice would improve coordination between the government and elected representatives and help ensure the smooth conduct of official programmes.
