Five Members of the District Council (MDCs) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) are likely to be inducted into its executive body on November 5, according to sources.
The MDCs expected to take oath as Executive Members are Kamal Koloi, Rajeshwar Debbarma, Dhananjoy Tripura, Hollywood Chakma and Khenaram Reang.
The council currently has only one Executive Member, Chandra Kanta Jamatia, who oversees Education, Social Welfare and Social Education, Tourism, and Kokborok and Other Indigenous Languages.
All other departments are presently under the charge of TTAADC Chief Executive Member Runiel Debbarma.
The proposed induction of the five MDCs is expected to alter the council’s administrative structure and lead to a redistribution of departmental responsibilities.
However, the November 5 schedule and other details of the oath-taking ceremony are yet to receive official confirmation.
