2,200 Security Personnel to Guard Tripura Sundari Temple During Diwali

Authorities in Tripura have planned a deployment of around 2,200 security personnel at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati district, for the three-day Diwali celebrations from November 8 to 10.

Gomati Superintendent of Police Anirban Das said the arrangements were being strengthened as the administration expected nearly twice as many devotees and visitors as last year.

Police and Tripura State Rifles personnel, along with plainclothes staff, will be stationed across the temple complex and nearby areas to regulate crowds and maintain law and order. A special team will also monitor potential troublemakers and respond to attempts to disrupt the festivities, Das said.

The celebrations will feature a drone show on November 8, organised under the leadership of the Gomati District Magistrate. More than 500 drones are expected to create formations and visual displays in the night sky.

Das said the security plan was intended to allow devotees to offer prayers and visitors to attend the festivities without inconvenience.
