Veteran Actor Dharmendra, 89, Discharged From Hospital After Breathing Complications

Veteran film icon Dharmendra, aged 89, was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning after receiving treatment for breathing difficulties. The actor had been admitted to the medical facility on October 31 after complaining of breathlessness and had remained under observation until his release. An ambulance was spotted departing the hospital premises early Wednesday, reportedly conveying the star back to his residence.

The discharge was confirmed by Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital, who oversaw the actor’s care during his hospitalization. Speaking to PTI, Dr. Samdani stated, “Dharmendraji has been discharged from the hospital around 7:30 a.m. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to continue his medical care there.” The decision was made to shift his medical care to his home.

The news of his release comes a day after erroneous reports of the iconic actor’s passing began circulating on Tuesday. These unfounded rumors prompted his daughter, actress Esha Deol, to release a public statement to clarify her father’s condition. Taking to Instagram, Deol wrote, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery,” while also disabling the comments on her post to prevent further spread of misinformation. Dharmendra, a cherished figure in Indian cinema spanning over six decades, continues to receive an outpouring of well wishes and prayers from his fans and colleagues for his continued good health.
