Three Active Insurgent Cadres Arrested in Coordinated Operations Across Manipur

Security forces and Manipur Police arrested three active cadres of different proscribed insurgent groups in a series of coordinated counter-insurgency operations conducted across Bishnupur and Imphal West districts on 18 November.

In the first operation, personnel apprehended an active member of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) faction from a rented house at the Langol Housing Complex under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West. The cadre, identified as Ningthoujam Jiten Singh alias Yaimaba and Chaiba (45) of Keirenphabi Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur district, was found in possession of a mobile handset and an Aadhaar card.

In a separate action, another team arrested an active PLA/RPF cadre from his residence at Keibul Awang Thana Leirak under Keibul Lamjao Police Station in Bishnupur district. The individual has been identified as Wangkhem Malangba Meitei (26).

Meanwhile, Manipur Police apprehended a third active RPF/PLA member from Malom Makha Leikai under Nambol Police Station in Bishnupur district. The accused, identified as Maibam Manishwar Singh (53) of Wabagai Mayai Leikai in Kakching district, was found with multiple incriminating items, including three mobile phones, an Aadhaar card, a four-wheeler and ₹3,25,000 in cash.

All three individuals were taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
