Manipur Security Forces Nab Active PREPAK (PRO) Cadre Amid Intensified Operations

Security forces operating in Manipur successfully apprehended an active member of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK-PRO) during a coordinated operation carried out on Wednesday, November 19. The arrested individual has been identified as Pukhrambam Diamond Singh, a 33-year-old resident of Bishnupur Awang Leikai Ward No. 1 in the Bishnupur district.

Officials reported that Singh was taken into custody at the Tera Urak crossing checkpoint within the jurisdiction of the Bishnupur Police Station. He is allegedly linked to numerous extortion activities targeting the general public, local traders, and shopkeepers across the Imphal East area. Security personnel seized a mobile phone during the arrest.

Simultaneously, security forces are maintaining intensified search operations and area domination exercises across vulnerable and fringe locations spanning multiple districts. Authorities have confirmed that the flow of essential supplies remains uninterrupted throughout the region. On the same day, 71 vehicles were successfully escorted along National Highway-37 (NH-37). Enhanced security measures, including the deployment of convoys along sensitive stretches, have been implemented to guarantee the safe transit of goods and public movement.
