Yusuf Pathan Opens New Cricket Academy in Assam, Praises State’s Talent

Former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan has officially launched the second training centre for the Cricket Academy of Pathan (CAP) in Assam, marking a significant development for aspiring players in the region. The new facility is strategically located at Tingrai Chariali in Duliajan, aiming to nurture local talent.

During the inauguration ceremony, Pathan took a moment to honour the beloved Assamese cultural icon, Zubeen Garg, acknowledging the deep respect and affection the people of Assam hold for the popular singer. The cricket veteran also extended high praise to Uma Chetry, a vital member of the Indian women’s cricket team that recently secured the World Cup title. Pathan specifically highlighted that Assam possesses a highly favourable environment for the sport’s growth.

Pathan expressed his optimism for the future of cricket in the state, asserting that with appropriate and rigorous training, the new generation of cricketers in Assam has the potential to develop into highly skilled national-level players.
