Tripura CM Calls for Greater Awareness of Sardar Patel’s Legacy

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha underscored the importance of educating younger generations about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution to national integration, stating that awareness of his role remains limited among many youths. He made the remarks on November 24 after flagging off the Sardar@150 Unity March at the Circuit House in Agartala.

Saha said the nationwide activities marking Patel’s 150th birth anniversary were designed to showcase his commitment to building a unified India. He noted that schools and colleges across the country were organising debates and related events to familiarise students with Patel’s life and work.

The chief minister announced that he would travel to Gujarat on November 25 to participate in a Padayatra honouring Patel, adding that leaders from all states had been invited to join. He said discussions would be held at several points along the route and stressed that any attempt to disrupt national unity would be closely watched.

Saha also spoke about ongoing employment initiatives in Tripura, stating that the government had generated more than 20,000 jobs and would introduce more opportunities in the coming months.
