Itanagar: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), under Project Brahmank, conducted a week-long Outreach Exchange Programme at Pasighat in Lower Siang district from September 1 to 6, 2025. The initiative aimed to build stronger ties between BRO personnel and local academia, administration, and youth while highlighting BRO’s role in nation-building.
As part of the programme, BRO officers, JCOs, engineers, and staff visited Arunachal Pradesh University, Apex University, and Rashtra Raksha University, where they interacted with faculty and students. In return, academic representatives, including vice-chancellors, principals, PhD scholars, and postgraduate students, visited the Project Brahmank headquarters. They were given presentations, briefings, film screenings, and live demonstrations of engineering equipment to better understand BRO’s operations.
The exchange witnessed enthusiastic participation, with around 120 BRO personnel engaging in university visits and over 75 faculty and students attending sessions at Project Brahmank. The programme received strong support from Mrs. Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Pasighat, who encouraged educational institutions to actively collaborate with BRO.
Hosting the visiting teams, Col Ashish Raisinghani, Officiating Chief Engineer, Project Brahmank, underscored the unit’s role in connecting remote and strategic areas of Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized that apart from infrastructure development, BRO remains committed to welfare initiatives such as medical camps, cleanliness drives, skill development, and motivational programmes.
“This collaborative effort will not only strengthen BRO’s connect with local communities but also create opportunities for the youth of Siang districts,” Col Raisinghani said.
