Nazira: The Nazira Municipality has initiated two significant development projects aimed at improving urban infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The initiatives, centred around the Gandhi Maidan area, seek to create better recreational spaces and streamline street vending activities within the town.
The first project, estimated at around Rs 50 lakh, involves the construction of a modern park near Gandhi Maidan. Designed as a dedicated recreational hub, the upcoming park will feature walking paths, children’s play equipment, and open spaces for relaxation. Special emphasis is being placed on facilities for senior citizens, with safe, accessible walkways and exercise options. According to Nazira Municipality, the park will also include sports and fitness equipment to cater to people of all age groups.

The second project, costing approximately Rs 6 lakh, aims to establish a vending zone near the same location. The new zone will accommodate food stalls and small vendors currently operating along the main roads. By relocating these vendors to a designated, well-equipped area, the municipality hopes to reduce traffic congestion, promote cleanliness, and offer vendors better working conditions.
These initiatives underscore Nazira Municipality’s commitment to creating a more organized, clean, and people-friendly urban environment. Once completed, the projects are expected to ease road congestion, provide quality recreational facilities, and support local businesses, contributing to the town’s holistic development.
