Guwahati: Assam’s Guwahati Police on Friday released a performance report for 2025, highlighting major improvements in crime control, investigation efficiency and law enforcement outcomes across the city. The conviction rate also saw a marked improvement, increasing to 28.05 per cent, compared to just 4 per cent four years ago. Following the implementation of new criminal laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the conviction rate further surged to 86.84 per cent, indicating faster trials and more effective investigations.
