Bomb Threat Email Triggers Panic at Hailakandi District Court

Hailakandi: Panic gripped the Hailakandi district court premises on December 7 after bomb threats were received through email, claiming that explosives had been planted inside the court complex. According to sources, the threat mail alleged that three bombs had been planted within the court premises. The email was reportedly sent to the official email accounts of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and the District Judge. Upon receiving the threatening message, court authorities immediately alerted the police.

Following the alert, police teams rushed to the spot and launched an extensive search operation in and around the court complex. As a precautionary measure, security arrangements were tightened and public entry into the court premises was restricted. Bomb disposal and security squads were deployed to thoroughly check the entire area to rule out any danger. However, till the filing of this report, no explosive materials had been recovered.

Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the authenticity of the threat and to trace the source of the email. Cyber experts are also examining technical details linked to the message. Meanwhile, the district administration and police have urged the public and court users to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel as investigations continue to ensure safety and maintain law and order.
