Tinsukia: Panic gripped Assam’s Sadiya on Sunday, January 11, after a massive fire broke out at the VKV School, sending shockwaves through the locality and raising serious safety concerns. The blaze spread rapidly, with thick plumes of smoke visible from a distance, prompting an immediate response from local residents and authorities. People in the surrounding area rushed out of their homes as fear and confusion prevailed for a brief period.
According to local residents, the fire is suspected to have originated from a cylinder explosion at a house located adjacent to the school campus. Eyewitnesses said a loud explosion was heard moments before flames engulfed parts of the school premises. However, officials are yet to confirm the exact cause of the incident.
Fire and emergency services were alerted immediately and rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
