Dibrugarh: Two tourists from Assam, who were visiting Wakka village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district, met with a bike accident at Sagow Gak (Pahar), a hilly stretch. The accident occurred in difficult and remote terrain marked by steep slopes and a deep gorge, making rescue operations extremely challenging, especially during late evening hours. Upon receiving information about the mishap, local residents from Wakka and nearby Ngisa villages acted swiftly and without hesitation.
Demonstrating remarkable courage and presence of mind, the villagers launched an immediate rescue operation, navigating the risky landscape to reach the victims. Their prompt efforts proved crucial, as both injured tourists were rescued alive from the accident site.

Following the rescue, the victims were safely transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
