Security Forces Push Back 15 Bangladeshi Nationals Along Assam Border

Guwahati, Jan 25: Security forces in Assam carried out a late-night operation along the Indo–Bangladesh border, pushing back 15 Bangladeshi nationals who had allegedly entered Indian territory illegally.

The operation was conducted during the intervening night of January 24, with the individuals escorted back across the international boundary as part of routine border enforcement measures to prevent unauthorised entry.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the development on social media platform X, reiterating the state government’s strict stance on border security. He said Assam maintains firm control over illegal entry and exit, asserting that while individuals may attempt to cross borders on their own terms, enforcement agencies decide how and when they are sent back.

The Chief Minister added that border forces remain on high alert and that the law will be enforced without compromise to safeguard the state’s frontiers.
