CM’s ‘Eti Kali, Duti Paat’ Scheme launched in Biswanath district

Biswanath Chariali: The Chief Minister’s ‘Eti Kali, Duti Paat’ scheme for tea workers and employees launched by the state government in recognition of their unique contribution to the glorious two hundred year old tea industry of Assam was officially launched in Biswanath district today. The scheme was officially launched at three separate meetings held at Mijikajan Tea Estate in Biswanath Constituency, Bargang Tea Estate in Behali Assembly Constituency and Helem Tea Estate in Gohpur Assembly Constituency respectively.

The scheme was inaugurated by Biswanath MLA Pramod Barthakur, former MP and Assam State Transport Corporation Chairman Pallab Lochan Das and Additional District Commissioner Kabita Kakati Konwar, senior assistant manager of Mijikajan tea estate Jaspinder Chouhan, assistant Commissioner Sunam Das, Biswanath Circle Officer (Attached) Munsun Barkakaty, assistant commissioner Manjushri Bora, social worker Nagen Gowla and other officials and employees of the district administration were present. The scheme will provide financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to 12,361 beneficiaries of seven tea estates under Biswanath Assembly constituency.

The inauguration ceremony held for Behali LAC was attended by Sonitpur Lok Sabha MP Ranjit Dutta, Behali MLA Diganta Ghatowal, Biswanath Zila Parishad President Sunita Tati, Biswanath District Commissioner Lakhinandan Saharia and Co District Commissioner Prabhat Pegu and other dignitaries were present. The scheme will provide financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to 15,520 beneficiaries of 10 tea estates under Behali assembly constituency.

The inaugural ceremony for the Gohpur LAC was attended by Gohpur MLA Utpal Bora, Additional District Commissioner Asim Bargohain, Gohpur Co-District Commissioner Aditya Pratap Singh, Circle Officer, Helem Namita Bora and other dignitaries. The scheme will provide financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to 4,889 beneficiaries of five tea estates under Gohpur Assembly constituency.
