Unidentified Man’s Body Recovered from Kalaktang River in Arunachal’s West Kameng

Itanagar, Feb 3: The body of an unidentified middle-aged man was recovered from the Kalaktang River in the Kalalitang area of Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district on February 2, police officials said.

According to the police, the body was found lodged between rocks in the middle of the river, prompting locals to alert the authorities. Personnel from the Kalaktang Police Station reached the spot and carried out the recovery operation.

Officer-in-charge of Kalaktang Police Station, HB Tator, said initial observations indicate that the man died due to drowning. The deceased is estimated to be between 45 and 50 years of age and is believed to be a non-Arunachali, based on preliminary assessment.

Police said the identity of the man is yet to be established. Authorities have appealed to the public and neighbouring police stations to share any information that could help in identifying the deceased, as further legal formalities and investigation continue.
