Tezpur: In a matter of pride for Tezpur, Abhipsit Kalita, a young neuroscientific researcher from the city, has been invited to participate in one of the world’s most prestigious neuroscience conferences to be held in Barcelona, Spain. The global summit on neuroscience is being organised by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and will take place from July 6 to 10 this year. The event is regarded as the largest and most significant international gathering in the field of neuroscience.

Abhipsit Kalita is the only son of Dr Ranjan Kalita, Principal of Rangapara College (Autonomous) and Pikumoni Kalita. He is currently pursuing full time research in neuroscience at the Department of Biological Sciences, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad campus.
Leading neuroscientists and researchers from across the world are expected to attend the summit. Abhipsit Kalita will present his research findings titled “Mast Cell–Microglia Axis Drives Cognitive Impairment and Peripheral Neuropathy in Experimental Chronic Kidney Disease.”
Notably, neuroscientists and researchers from around 120 countries will participate in the conference, making it a significant global platform for scientific exchange. Abhipsit Kalita’s selection to present his research at such a forum has brought laurels to Tezpur and the state.
