AIUDF Holds ‘Hallabol’ Protest in Bilasipara

Bilasipara: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) staged a massive protest in Bilasipara on Thursday, raising strong objections to alleged irregularities in the Special Revision (SR) process. Party leaders, workers, and supporters gathered outside the Co-district Commissioner’s office, chanting slogans against Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Addressing the crowd, AIUDF MLA Samsul Huda accused the Chief Minister of using the SR exercise to deliberately create unrest across Assam. “Through SR, the Chief Minister is trying to set the entire state on fire,” Huda said, asserting that notices have affected not only the Miya Muslim community but also thousands of indigenous, deshi, and majority community members. “This is not a Miya issue alone. Legitimate citizens from various communities are being harassed, exposing the government’s hidden agenda,” he added.

Huda criticized the Miya narrative as a political tool, claiming that it has become central to Sarma’s electoral strategy. “His politics cannot survive without it. He formed the government using the Miya issue, but this time his defeat is 100 percent certain,” he remarked. He further questioned the Chief Minister’s claims of supporting poor Miyas, highlighting inconsistencies in government policies.

The AIUDF leaders warned that harassment of legitimate citizens would not be tolerated and urged authorities to ensure transparency and fairness in the SR process. Despite the intensity of the protest, the demonstration concluded peacefully, though political tensions remain high in the region.
