Guwahati, Sep 15: Established on September 15, 1984 by the country’s first woman Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi, the All India Mahila Congress (AIMC) today completed 40 years of its establishment.
Alka Lamba, President, All India Mahila Congress while addressing women party workers in New Delhi said, “remembering Smt. Indira Gandhi, paying tribute to her, we take a pledge that the All-India Mahila Congress has been fighting and will continue to fight for the economic, political and social justice rights given to half of the country’s population, the women population, in the constitution”.
Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress celebrates its foundation day at Rajiv Bhawan
The Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress (APMC) today celebrated its foundation day at Rajiv Bhawan here in Guwahati. Speaking during the occasion, Mira Borthakur Goswami, President, APMC stated, “On the occasion of the Foundation day of All India Mahila Congress, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every member who have served this wing tirelessly and with sheer dedication.”
She also added, “I’m grateful and proud of each and every women party workers. You have proved that you are phenomenal and I believe your contribution towards the party shall uplift and strengthen the organization for its greater goals”.
