Imphal, April 8: An all-party meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on April 7 unanimously condemned the recent Tronglaobi incident and appealed for peace and restraint across Manipur.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, reviewed the prevailing law and order situation, with leaders describing the attack as a “cowardly act” and expressing concern over escalating tensions. Representatives from across political parties stressed the need to maintain unity and communal harmony during the sensitive period.
Participants assured full cooperation with the government in efforts to restore normalcy. It was collectively decided that those responsible for the incident would be identified at the earliest, arrested, and dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
A joint appeal was issued urging citizens to remain calm and avoid any form of violence, including damage to public property. Leaders highlighted the importance of public cooperation in maintaining order and preventing further escalation.
The meeting was attended by representatives of major political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, National People’s Party, Naga People’s Front and the Communist Party of India. Senior leaders, including former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and former Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh, were also present.
