Amit Shah opens Rs 291cr Jyoti-Bishnu Kala Mandir in Guwahati

Guwahati, Dec 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated the sprawling Jyoti-Bishnu Antarjatik Kala Mandir, Northeast India’s largest auditorium, in Guwahati. Spread over 14.85 acres, the state-of-the-art complex boasts a 5,000-seater auditorium, convention centre, and green energy infrastructure, positioning Guwahati as a key cultural and event hub.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the project’s sustainability angle, with solar panels powering the complex. Shah will also honour Congenital Heart Disease programme beneficiaries at the venue. The ₹291 crore facility is set to elevate Assam’s cultural landscape and host major national and global events.
