Apollo Excelcare Hospital Launches Extended City OPD Centre in Kumarpara, Guwahati

Guwahati: Apollo Excelcare Hospital has announced the inauguration of its extended city OPD Centre at Kumarpara, Guwahati, marking a significant step toward decentralising specialist healthcare and making quality medical services more accessible to local communities. Developed in collaboration with Instacare, the facility aims to offer convenient access to specialist doctors, improved patient experience and prompt clinical support.

The centre was formally inaugurated by distinguished guests — Satyen Sarma, Senior Advocate, Gauhati High Court & Former Senior Additional Advocate General of Assam; Mukesh Agrawal, IPS (Retd.), Former Special DGP, Assam Police & Independent Director at Apollo Excelcare Hospital; and Thaomunglung Chukhrungfa, Chief Operating Officer, Apollo Excelcare Hospital.
All three dignitaries emphasised the importance of strengthening decentralised healthcare systems in rapidly growing metropolitan areas. They highlighted how such initiatives contribute to early diagnosis, preventive healthcare and timely treatment. The guests lauded Apollo Excelcare for taking healthcare “to the doorstep of the community,” enabling residents to consult some of the city’s best specialists closer to home.

Also present at the ceremony were Dr. Indrajit Das (Consultant, Medicine, Apollo Excelcare), Dr. Rahul Verma (Consultant Pediatrician & Proprietor, Instacare), Dr. Saroj Tiwari (Consultant Pediatrician, Instacare), Manoranjan Kalita (General Manager – Marketing), Arnab Jyoti Das (Public Relations Officer), along with senior functionaries, invitees and well-wishers.

The new OPD Centre will cater to a wide array of specialties — including cardiology, rheumatology, urology, nephrology, medicine, diabetology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, oncology, orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics and pain management. Residents of Kumarpara and neighbouring localities such as Bharalumukh, Rehabari, Dhirenpara and Shantipur will now be able to access expert consultations without travelling long distances.

Diagnostic services at the centre will be supported by Apollo Clinic, Dispur, known for its advanced diagnostic infrastructure and commitment to quality healthcare.
