APRA lauds Pemba Tamang for silver at National Shooting Championship

Itanagar, Dec 28: The Arunachal Pradesh Rifle Association (APRA) congratulated shooter Pemba Tamang for winning a silver medal at the ongoing 68th National Shooting Championship, terming it a significant achievement for the state.

Tamang secured second place in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol (individual) event at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, competing against top shooters from across the country.

In a statement, APRA president Chukhu Apa said the medal had brought pride to Arunachal Pradesh and reflected the state’s growing footprint in national-level shooting sports.

Only two shooters from Arunachal Pradesh—Yalom Mize and Pemba Tamang—are representing the state at the championship, which is being held from December 11, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

The association congratulated Tamang on his performance and said such achievements would serve as inspiration for young shooters in Arunachal Pradesh to pursue the sport with greater dedication.
