ARG celebrates annual get-together in Guwahati

Guwahati: Amateur Runners Guwahati (ARG), one of the city’s most active and vibrant running communities, successfully organised its Annual Get-Together, bringing together runners and fitness enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds under one roof. Founded in 2014, ARG has steadily grown into a strong support system for runners of all levels, promoting structured training, mental resilience and a culture of mutual encouragement. The annual gathering provided an opportunity for members to reflect on the club’s journey, celebrate milestones and strengthen the bonds that define the ARG community. Senior runners shared their experiences and personal stories, inspiring newer members to pursue their fitness goals with determination and confidence.

As part of the programme, ARG felicitated several individuals for their outstanding contributions to sports, endurance and fitness in Assam and beyond. IPS officer Longnit Teron, para-cyclist Rakesh, Nazneen Anjan Pathak, Shehnaz Farmin and Ripunjoy Gogoi were honoured for their achievements in cycling and running. The event, held at the India Club, was graced by guests of honour including Pranay Bordoloi, Manish Deka, Dr Saurabh Kumar Sarma, Dr Ajoy Deka, Brij Nandan Tiwari and Dhiraj Dutta, who lauded ARG’s role in fostering a fitness-oriented and inclusive sporting culture in the region.

The get-together not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also highlighted the collective spirit of perseverance, discipline and community that continues to drive Amateur Runners Guwahati forward.
