MOREH: A joint team of Moreh Police Station and 36 Assam Rifles recovered a concealed cache of arms, ammunition and explosive devices from a forested area near Border Pillar 73 along the Indo-Myanmar border on August 20.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the security personnel launched an operation in the area and detected the concealed cache.
The recovered weapons included an M15 rifle with magazine, an MA G3 rifle with magazine, a country-made pistol, six single-barrel firearms, two country-made rifles and a .22 rifle.
The team also recovered 10 radio sets, five drone bombs, five improvised explosive devices (IEDs), a tear gas gun, 17 rounds of tear gas ammunition, two grenades, two BP jackets and five live rounds.
Security forces have launched further investigation to identify those responsible for concealing the cache and determine the intended use of the recovered arms and explosives.
