Four athletes from Arunachal Pradesh, representing India, won six medals at the Nordic Open Wushu Championships held in Sweden from December 12 to 16.
Mepung Lamgu secured two gold medals in Taijiquan and Taijijian, while Mercy Ngaimong won gold in Jianshu and Onilu Tega claimed gold in the 52 kg category. Chera Loku added a silver in Taijiquan and a bronze in Taijijian.
Onilu Tega, from Chaglagam in Anjaw district, received special recognition for her achievement. Arunachal Pradesh Minister Dasanglu Pul congratulated the athletes, coaches and support staff, saying the success reflected the state’s growing sporting potential and the government’s commitment to nurturing talent.
